Next-Generation IEDB Tools Website and API - Release 1.0

We are excited to announce that the initial release of the Next-Generation IEDB Tools Website is now open to the public! This is a complete redesign of the IEDB Analysis Resource with an emphasis on usability, simplicity, and tool integration.

Release notes - 1.0 (Feb 14, 2023)

  • Streamlined and consistent user interface with tools for power users
  • Pipelines allow for chaining together various tools in a single run
  • Available tools:
    • T cell class I application includes most tools related to MHC class I epitope prediction and analysis and allows the running of multiple tools simultaneously
      • MHC-I binding
      • MHC-I processing
      • MHC-I immunogenicity
    • Clustering provides a way to group peptide sequences based on sequence identity
    • PEPMatch allows for the efficient search for closely related peptides in several common reference proteomes
  • New API to support pipelining and predictions for large datasets

  • Follow-up releases planned on a 3-month cycle
    • Next release will focus on enhancing speed
  • Additional tools will be migrated from the legacy site (https://tools.iedb.org) over the next iterations

  • PEPMatch updated to version 0.8.3
    • Peptides with 0 matches are no longer shown in the output
  • Pipeline map updated to include ‘Run’ button and make controls for adding steps more intuitive
  • Resource limits implemented on several tools to prevent server overload
  • Several new conditions tested to provide users with meaningful warning and error messages
